Sant Ffraed House Wedding Photographer - Laura and Callum

The sun shone all day for Laura and Callum’s Sant Ffraed House wedding. Sant Ffraed House is a picturesque Grade II listed country house set within 14 acres of peaceful countryside with views of the Welsh countryside. A stunning winter wedding!

It was lovely to be returning to be an Oldwalls wedding photographer, and to see Sant Ffraed House which, having just opened in July 2021, is the newest venue in their collection.

Oldwalls wedding venues are a real favourite with South Wales wedding photographers, as they create venues designed specifically for weddings so always have wedding photos in mind ensuring that exquisite light and beautiful backdrops are built into the design.

On the day, I got there early enough to capture some stunning images of Sant Ffraed House all dressed and ready to go. It looked amazing. I also caught up with Laura and her bridal party who were getting ready in one of Sant Ffraed’s gorgeous suites. Everybody was fizzing with excitement.

Laura looked stunning in a beautiful dress with exquisite lace detailing. It had a plunging neckline, a beautifully scooped low back and a romantic floaty skirt that gave her a gorgeous silhouette in all of my images. Her hair was beautiful styled in a loose up do with perfect make-up, Laura looked every inch the fairy-tale bride.

Laura’s army of bridesmaids looked elegant in navy dresses and the bouquets looked gorgeous. I then headed downstairs to catch up with Callum who was happily greeting guests. Callum looked very smart in a petrol blue three-piece suit with a light grey waistcoat.

As Laura descended the staircase, I captured a gorgeous father seeing the bride moment.

The wedding ceremony was held in a beautiful room with period plasterwork, an elegant wood floor and large windows that bathed the space with tons of natural light (us Welsh wedding photographers can never have too much light!) It was so elegant it needed little adornment so the sashes on chairs and the candles to mark the aisle were just perfect.

At this point, I want to talk about Laura and Callum’s guests. They all looked amazing. Everybody dressed up and looked their very best and were so lovely, fun and laidback. They were all a joy to be around and to photograph.

After a beautiful ceremony, everybody headed outside for a fun confetti moment and a drinks reception. As the sun was shining, we managed a lot of group photos outside as well. The ones of the entire wedding party on the steps of the impressive house are amongst my favourites.

As guests happily mingled and enjoyed exclusive use of St Ffraed House, I quickly whisked Laura and Callum away for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot. These guys were a little nervous at first about their photoshoot but quickly relaxed into it and I got some lovely images.

We headed back to the house, and for our final image the staff let Laura and Callum loose behind the bar for a cheeky shot before entering the reception.

The wedding reception was held in the brand-new impressive K Room. A purpose-built glass structure that is simply stunning. It’s curved glass shape makes full use of the stunning views of the garden seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces. And its bar looks like it’s been lifted out of a modern five-star luxury Mayfair hotel. As we entered guests had all been seated and greeted Laura and Callum rapturously.

Storytelling wedding photography at St Ffraed House

There followed a wonderful wedding meal and some very well received speeches.

Afterwards, it was time for cocktail hour and Laura and Callum had arranged for pornstar martinis. They looked so good all lined up on the bar ready to go that they warranted an image of their own!

Evening celebrations started with the cutting of a gorgeously deep and beautifully decorated two-tier wedding cake followed by a romantic first dance. The K Room had been transformed again into what looked like a hi-end exclusive members club which was just as well as this lot were up for a party. And live band ‘The Trends’ were there to make sure they got one! I braved the dancefloor to get some really fun images.

I loved capturing Laura and Callum’s St Ffraed wedding. A gorgeous celebration for a great couple with lovely guests and all at a simply stunning South Wales wedding venue. Congratulations guys and thanks for having me there to tell the story of it. I hope my images will allow you to relive it again and again for many years to come.
