Cardiff Wedding Photographer - Jon & Verity

Cornerstone wedding photographer – Verity and Jon’s day

As a busy Cardiff wedding photographer, I get to regularly capture wedding photography in central Cardiff and it’s always a treat.  Verity and John chose the three iconic Cardiff landmarks of Alexandra Park, City Hall and Cornerstone for the locations of their summer wedding.

We started our day at Alexandra Gardens as Verity and Jon wanted to do their couples photoshoot before the ceremony.  I always love being an Alexandra Gardens wedding photographer as the formal lawns, ornate fountain, historically rich fountains, iconic Welsh National War Memorial and the beautiful trees and flowerbeds all make amazing backdrops in my images.  And as Alexandra Gardens sit just behind City Hall everything was within easy walking distance.

Verity looked stunning in an elegant satin dress with a plunging neckline and discretely concealed slit on the skirt allowing Verity to walk freely in our photoshoot.  Her blonde her was glamorously curled and she wore a gorgeous elbow length veil.  Her dress was complemented with a gorgeous bouquet of white flowers.  She looked amazing and Jon looked very smart beside her in a grey suit with a patterned tie.

I got some great images of them in the gardens that were looking their absolute best in mid-June.  Here, take a look!

Experienced Cardiff City Hall wedding photographer

I always love being booked to be a Cardiff City Hall wedding photographer because I love city centre weddings.  Verity and Jon booked St David’s Room for their wedding ceremony.   Ideal for larger weddings, St David’s Room is an ornate space with a feature fireplace, a chandeliered ceiling and beautiful large period windows that flood the room with natural light.  Us Cardiff wedding photographers are total geeks when it comes to getting excited about any extra natural light.  It’s because we can play with the light to create even more beautiful images.

After a gorgeous ceremony, we headed back to Alexandra Gardens with the wedding party for some great group shots and a fun confetti moment that I captured perfectly.  Here, take a look!

Then the whole wedding party walked from City Hall to Cornerstone for the reception walking right through busy Cardiff city centre.  People stopped and cheered and clapped for them.  It was so lovely.

Cornerstone is a beautiful Grade II listed iconic Cardiff building with a rich history though today it serves as a gorgeous venue.  It was perfect for Verity and Jon’s large wedding as it’s a huge space with amazing vaulted ceilings.

On arrival everybody enjoyed an outdoor drinks and canapes reception on Cornerstones beautiful cobbled terrace.  The sun shone and I got some really lovely candid images of Verity and Jon’s guests really enjoying themselves.

The reception was lovely and included some very tasty looking grazing boards of meze and some very well received speeches.

Evening celebrations started with a romantic first dance, and as the party started Verity and Jon slipped away as they wanted me to take some intimate shots of them at the Cardiff bar where they first met.  So, once again we were back on the streets of Cardiff City Centre, this time early evening, and once again the lovely people of Cardiff couldn’t wait to offer Verity and Jon their congratulations.   We did a lovely photoshoot in the bar, and in a couple of city locations on our way back to their wedding.  Here, take a look!

When we got back the party was in full swing and I got some great images of everybody on the dancefloor where many remained all night.

Creative Cornerstone Cardiff wedding photographer

I loved capturing Verity and Jon’s wedding in Cardiff because it showcased their love for each other, for their family and friends and for the city of Cardiff so perfectly.  Congratulations guys and thank you for having me there.  I loved it!

I’ll leave the last words to Verity and Jon.  Here’s what they had to say about me.

Keri was brilliant from start to finish!  Neither of us were initially comfortable in front of the camera, but Keri made us feel at ease and gave us plenty of tips to help us relax and enjoy our wedding photos. The engagement shoot, included in our package, was a great opportunity for us to practice.

Throughout our wedding Keri took a fantastic range of documentary style photographs, capturing the relaxed, fun atmosphere of the day. We had loads of compliments from our friends and family about how friendly, approachable and helpful Keri was throughout the day.

The photographs of our day were absolutely fantastic, ranging from our couple photos and photos with family in the park, documentary style photos of our reception, and a quick, intimate, mid reception photo shoot, during which we sneaked off to the bar where we had our first date.

Overall, it was an absolute pleasure having Keri as our wedding photographer, and we have already recommended him to family and friends getting married in the near future!”
